Customers Reviews about Meokja Cafe menu Malaysia
Anne
We decided to give Meokja another try after not having the best experience before, and we’re so glad we did. It has quickly become one of our favourite places to eat!
The sundubu jjigae is hands down the best we’ve had, and we’re absolutely obsessed with their samgyetang. In fact, we’ve already had it twice this week because my daughter couldn’t stop talking about it.
A big shoutout to the amazing service team as well. Even though our samgyetang took a little longer today, the staff kept us updated throughout, which we really appreciated. Special thanks to Teha, Paan, and Yuni for their excellent service and warm hospitality, even though it was almost closing time.
We’ll definitely be back again.

This was an impromptu visit after the Korean restaurant we originally planned to go to was closed.
We ordered the Soondubu Jjigae, Honey Butter Fried Chicken, and Strawberry Bingsu. The standout dish for me was definitely the Honey Butter Fried Chicken. It was perfectly crispy, well-seasoned, and had just the right balance of sweetness and saltiness. I would happily order it again.
Unfortunately, the Soondubu Jjigae didn’t live up to my expectations. The portion was generous, which I appreciated, but the flavour was quite disappointing. I ordered the extra spicy version, yet it tasted rather bland with a slight bitter aftertaste. It didn’t have the rich, comforting flavour I usually expect from a good Soondubu Jjigae, so I probably wouldn’t order it again.
The Strawberry Bingsu was decent, but for RM15, the portion felt a little underwhelming. I was expecting a much larger serving.
The biggest downside was the waiting time. We waited almost an hour for our food even though the restaurant wasn’t particularly busy. There were plenty of servers on the floor, so perhaps the kitchen could use more staff to improve the speed of service.
That said, most of the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. However, one incident did leave a bad impression. While serving the kimchi banchan, one of the waiters accidentally spilled kimchi liquid onto and inside my friend’s bag, which was placed on the chair. The liquid even dripped from the bag onto the table. Surprisingly, the waiter didn’t seem to notice, and no apology was offered, which was quite disappointing.
Overall, the Honey Butter Fried Chicken was excellent, but the long wait, disappointing Soondubu Jjigae, and the lack of accountability for the spill made the overall experience a mixed one.
