We enjoyed an absolutely flawless dinner. Seated outdoors in beautiful weather, with the illuminated KL Tower glowing in the background, the setting couldn’t have been better. The service was impeccable, warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming from start to finish. The cocktail menu was tempting across the board; we opted for the Palmera Rum and the Drunken Poet, both excellent choices.
To begin, we shared the Guacamole and the Creole Tawau Prawn. The prawn dish leaned toward the spicy side, but it was packed with flavor and arrived with an impressive smoky presentation that added a bit of theatrical flair.
For mains, we chose the Curry Leaf Burnt Grouper, accompanied by eggplant prepared three ways: paprika-spiced, caramelised, and sesame-roasted, all brought together with a fragrant kurma pesto. We also had the Tamarind Chilli Barramundi, layered with sweet coconut cream, tangy smoked tamarind, fiery chilli, slightly bitter ulam raja, and a touch of salty garlic dust. Each component was thoughtfully balanced, creating a dish with real depth and character.
Presentation across the board was elegant, and the portion sizes were just right, satisfying without being overwhelming, which meant we had room for dessert. We finished with the house-churned Teh Tarik Gelato and a rich Malaysian Cocoa Truffle, both of which were a fitting end to the meal.
A restaurant we wholeheartedly recommend and one we’ll gladly return to whenever we’re back in Kuala Lumpur.
