Din Tai Fung founded by Yang Bingyi and his wife, Lai Penmei, as a cooking oil retail shop in 1958 in Taipei City, Taiwan. After a decade, in 1972, Din Tai Fung was Renewed as a restaurant that offered dumplings and noodles. In 1996, Din Tai Fung opened its first Outlet in the United States and upscaled their business internationally.

On January 17, 1993, Din Tai Fung gained popularity internationally when the New York Times rated din tai fung in the top 10 gourmet restaurants on the Globe. Furthermore, it gained more fame in 2010 when the din tai fung outlet was awarded one Michelin Star. Now Din Tai Fung owns outlets around the Globe, from Japan to Thailand.

In Malaysia, Din Tai Fung opened its first Outlet in 2007 at The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley., Kuala Lumpur and became a household name because of its delicious xiaolongbao dumplings. After seeing the love of Malaysians for their food, they expanded and opened more outlets in the main cities, including Penang and Johor Bahru. The Restaurants focused on quality, consistency and Services provided by 鼎泰丰 Restaurant.

Recently 鼎泰丰 Opened a new outlet at Pavilion Damansara Heights Shopping Mall, Lot 1.13.01, Level 1. to serve drinks all over Malaysia.
